Service & Repair

Meet the Team

Saeed

Saeed’s connection to the sewing industry runs deep. His father founded the business in 1980, and Saeed took the reins in his early twenties, bringing fresh vision and dedication. With a background in Fashion and Design, he combines creative insight with hands-on technical expertise. Over the years, Saeed has undertaken specialist training for our many well-known makes and models, ensuring
customers receive informed advice and support. He also leads our industrial division, providing solutions for factories, workshops, and educational institutions, and specialises in machines designed for every aspect of industrial and domestic sewing.

Mark

Mark brings over four decades of expertise to our workshop, specialising in the service and repair of domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and more. His career began in 1980 at just 17 years old, and by 1989 he had become the Pfaff Service
Manager – a testament to his skill, dedication, and deep technical knowledge. Today, Mark’s meticulous craftsmanship and professional approach ensures every machine he works on receives the highest level of care.

Between Saeed and Mark, we offer over 80 years of expertise.

Shirley

Shirley first met Saeed as a customer, and her eye for organisation soon became an asset to the business. Her own educational journey began in her teens, earning her a scholarship award for Excellence in Needlework and an award for Fashion and
Design. Today, she supports the management side, overseeing the daily running of operations and ensuring our educational contract requirements are met with precision and care. Her blend of creative background and organisational skill helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Alongside Saeed, Shirley attends several exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing a range of domestic machines alongside the latest industrial models—many of which are now popular for home use, particularly for Longarm quilting, curtain making, blind making, and for other specialist sewing needs. Our exhibition details can be found here ( link to exhibition page)

Abdur

Abdur is our IT specialist, working behind the scenes. He joined us in 2017 knowing very little about sewing machines but was enthusiastic and quick to learn and meet the customers. After gaining a good understanding of the business, he took over the day to day responsibility of running of the website in 2022.

Domestic Machines

We offer a full service and repair facility for domestic sewing, overlock and embroidery machines. Your machine can be dropped off in person to our branch location in Rochdale. Your machines should include the power lead, foot control, bobbin and bobbin case, and standard presser foot. If you are experiencing problems with a particular material or thread type, please include a sample of both so our technicians can identify any potential issues and provide you with advice and guidance.

If you live outside our local area, you are welcome to send your machine to us by courier (always use the original manufacturers packaging, where this is not possible package your machine well in thick wall carboard boxes using bubble wrap, packing peanuts and polystyrene to provide cushioning and protection). We recommend you insure your machine for the current replacement value should the worst happen.

With the vast array of makes & models from yesteryear to modern day there are simply far too many to provide a specific price for repair and/or service over the phone. We work on a category system as follows:

MS Mechanical Straight Stitch / Zigzag
MU  Mechanical Utility
ME   Mechanical Satin / Embroidery / Cam
OL/CL/H   Overlock / Coverlock / Hemmer
EL Electronic – LCD Screens
CM Computerised Touch Screen
EU Embroidery Unit
CB Combination

Our service charges start from £40. Our repair charges start from £35. Parts charged separately. BUT it really depends on which category your machine falls into!

All machines that come to us for repair or service are booked into our system and assigned unique tag number. A £20.00 deposit is taken when the machine is booked in, this will be taken off the final amount due when the machine is returned. If you are sending your machine to us by courier, please click below to pay your deposit online. It is helpful if you send a printout of your invoice with your machine.

Industrial Machines - Including those in home use

Due to their size and weight we can provide onsite service and repair for our customers with industrial machinery. Our call out charge is fairly and accurately rated based on your location. Please provide us with the postcode where the machine is located so we can quote you correctly.
